Alastair “Al” Stewart is a Scottish folk rock musician from Glasgow and is thought to be a prominent figure in English folk revival. Stewart was born on 5 September 1945 in Glasgow, Scotland and raised in Wimborne Minster, Dorset, England. In 1965 he traded in his electric guitar for an acoustic one to fill the weekly slot at a London Soho Coffee House.
