The Alameda Museum and AAPS have worked together many years organizing the Home Tour and we have enjoyed our role in making it a successful event. The name “Alameda” was adopted in 1872, referring to the groves or lanes of poplar trees. By the twentieth century, Alameda had been typecast as a “bedroom city” with residential areas cropping up, due in part to the desirable flow of trolley, train, and ferry transportation services.
A delightful Home Tour featuring grand homes in the Island City of Alameda, a lovely tea, holiday boutique, gourmet shop, and Texas-style auction. Mission: The Holiday Home Tour is hosted by the Alameda Family Services League (AFSL), a volunteer fundraising auxiliary which supports the counseling and support services for Alameda Family Services.
